Following the unfortunate cancellation of the Minting Vintage Car & Bike Show, everyone pulled together and The Sebastopol inn’s owners and the Minting Village Hall committee and volunteers made a great success of the day.  Visitors who were unaware that the Car Show had been cancelled were made very welcome and a local couple offered their paddock for use as a car park and several vintage cars used this added facility. So, many thanks to Penny and Andrew! Several vintage vehicles were on display in the pub car park too.    Everyone’s efforts meant that the substantial sum of £400 was raised for the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air ambulance and grateful thanks go to all who donated.

Minting Village Hall’s volunteers made lots of delicious cakes, all of which were sold at their stall, kindly provided by Steve, Wendy & Zara at the Sebastopol, who also contributed glasses and mugs to sell, proceeds of which were shared between the Air Ambulance and Village Hall.   Minting Village Hall made £201.50, which was a brilliant result and a very welcome contribution to their funds. . The Committee sold out of baked goods  and would like to thank the hall’s volunteer bakers for providing so many cakes.

And, of course, we’d like to thank Minting’s Community Choir; the audience at the Pub were delighted to be entertained by the Choir’s 40’s music repertoire including such classics as Glenn Miller’s “Pennsylvania 65000”, and if anyone is interested in joining the Choir, please do contact David on allsop484@btInternet.com.
