Update 5/9/2016
Work has been progressing over the past few weeks with various meetings with relevant parties.  One change is that the initial research part of the project will now be done as part of the Minting, Gautby and District Heritage Society instead of the parish council.  More news expected in October.  The pub is, of course, now closed until further notice.
Update 9/8/2016
A Working Party of the Parish Council has been formed and is being co-ordinated by Sarah Smith.  The group will be investigating the
possibility of a community pub project.  If you have any questions or would like to be involved, please contact Sarah Smith  at sarahmaryanne@aol.com
Update 13/7/2016
As promised at the meeting on June 27th, we are now holding a second meeting on Monday July 25th, at 7:30pm in Minting Village Hall.  This meeting is open to all whether or not you attended the first meeting and we would also welcome people with relevant skills (especially financial) to help in the investigation stages.  You are very welcome to attend the first part of the meeting even if you don’t want to be involved in the working party.
Since that first meeting, Sarah Smith has agreed to be the working party co-ordinator for the initial investigation stage of the process and so the second part of the meeting will involve setting up the group.
If you can’t make this meeting but would like to be kept informed please let the parish clerk know at parishclerk@mintingandgautby.co.uk
Update 28/6/2016
At an initial public meeting on June 27th, 2016, 26 people turned up to discuss the future of the Sebastopol Inn.  Joanna Heselwood, who was Chair of the earlier Community Bid of 5 years ago, answered questions about the current situation and previous business plan and ideas.  People at the meeting very mu20160627_193102_HDRch felt that they wanted a viable pub in the village which catered for locals and visitors alike. Everyone who attended gave their contact details and it was agreed that it would be a good idea to try to form a steering group as soon as possible, but that everyone wanted to go and think about what had been discussed.  It was agreed that there should be a second public meeting to move things on.
Below you will find a link to download a copy of the prospectus which was prepared for the bid 5 years ago and which will be helpful to read prior to coming to the next public meeting.
